Advantus Corp., located near Jacksonville, Florida, was founded in 1970 as Grip-a-Strip, Inc. In 1986, Ms. Canaday purchased the business, which was renamed Advantus Corp. in 1992 to reflect the product line expansion.

Grip-a-Strip, a patented paper and poster-hanging device, was the Company's primary product for a number of years. In 1993, the Winners' Choice Collection was launched. This collection includes motivational framed art, business paper, note cards and The 7 Habits Prints by Franklin-Covey Co. From 1993 through today the company has introduced a number of product lines. They include a comprehensive line of paper and poster holding products, cubicle management products, signs (both electrical and non-electrical), labor law posters, mailroom and shipping products, and more.

Advantus has recently increased the size of its manufacturing facility to facilitate the Company's growth. Today the company employs approximately forty people and manufactures numerous product lines. Look for their message board accessories and panel clips in the Office Depot product assortment.
